'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered' news: DLC on the way?
If the latest reports are to be believed, Activision has more planned for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster," which was just released. It is being said that downloadable content (DLC) will be released to the game.
Gamers have discovered a weapon in the title that was not released in the original. It is called XM-LAR, which was actually featured in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2."
According to Reddit user falconbox, "The gun works perfectly and has a killfeed icon. This is not a native ["Call of Duty 4"] gun, so I figure it's either content they used to test in the game... or possible indication of future DLC?"
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster" was only released as a pre-order bonus with "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," which is the latest iteration in the franchise.
GameRant says that if it is popular than the main game, it would be wise to release DLC for it. If the speculations are accurate, the XM-LAR could be the first extra content for it.
Interestingly, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster" is proving more popular than "Infinite Warfare" as the former outranks the latter in the Xbox Live Most Played games list.
The remaster is at the second spot while the new "Call of Duty" title sits at the fourth spot only, which indicates that the game is not performing as well as Activision hoped.
With the popularity of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster" shown in numbers, perhaps Activision might take advantage of that by releasing a DLC.
On the other hand, one Reddit user suggested that if it is not a DLC, the developer might consider doing a Remaster version of the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" instead. After all, it is where the XM-LAR comes from originally.
Meanwhile, the XM-LAR could also be simply a leftover content from the development process and might not mean anything, let alone a full-on DLC.
