Carrie Fisher is now in stable condition, her mother Debbie Reynolds confirmed, following a medical emergency during a flight from London to Los Angeles a few days ago.

Reynolds assured fans of the "Star Wars" actress on Twitter and promised to provide more updates. "If there is a change, we will share it," she said before thanking fans for the prayers and good wishes.

Fisher suffered a heart attack just minutes before her plane touched down at the Los Angeles International Airport. The airline staff attempted to revive her but to no avail. There was word from YouTuber Anna Akana, who was on the flight with the actress that Fisher was unresponsive for "10 minutes or so," adding that "they were administering CPR up until we landed." The 60-year-old actress, who was on was her way back after promoting her new book, "The Princess Diarist," in the U.K., was immediately rushed to the UCLA Medical Center by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The paramedics were alerted of the emergency prior to the plane's landing so they were able to provide advance life support and "aggressively" treat Fisher when the plane touched down. Upon hearing about the news, prayers and well wishes poured as celebrities immediately showed their concern for the actress. Among them are her fellow "Star Wars" veterans Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. "Star Trek" veteran William Shatner also sent some love to Fisher.

"I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news about my dear friend," Ford told The Hollywood Reporter of Fisher's situation. "Our thoughts are with Carrie, her family and friends," he went on to say.

Fans continue to pray for the actress for her speedy recovery and to be able to be back on her feet again. Majority of them hopes that "the force will be with" Fisher during this time.
