For the Chicago Bulls, finding players they can depend on is vital as they try to navigate through the coming NBA season.

With new players like Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade in the scene, the Bulls have to get steady input from those who know the system. Nikola Mirotic is one of those with a big responsibility.

Starting his NBA career in the 2014-15 season, much is expected from Mirotic but things have not started smoothly this preseason.

Many thought that he would finally be the starting power forward for the team but his first showing only resulted in two points as the Bulls lost to the Milwaukee Bucks.

In that match-up, Mirotic was held to 1-of-7 shooting from the field, which included no shots from beyond the arc.

With the Bulls having Bobby Portis and Taj Gibson as other capable power forwards, Mirotic was given the nod to carry the team but looked out of place in the offense.

This happened again in their second pre-season game. He only scored four points. Yet again, Mirotic was 1-of-7 and scoreless from beyond the arc.

Mirotic also played as a starter for the first time in this second game when they were up against the Indiana Pacers. He failed to deliver as they lost again.

Mounting pressure combined with his past performance risking his starting position and possibly a roster spot, Mirotic finally bounced back as he became more relaxed and found some confidence behind his shots.

Helping the team finally get a win over the Pacers, Mirotic made 18 points as he shot 6-of-9 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

This certainly helps Mirotic's hopes to be a starter, but he will have to maintain this level of playing if he wants to be the main guy for the Bulls at the fourth spot.

Chicago is desperately hoping to return to glory. With changes in the team, players like Mirotic definitely have to step up.
