Chicago Bulls trade rumors: Bulls eyeing star center

It appears that the Chicago Bulls are still trying to gear up for another superstar to arrive. Talks are again revolving around the team picking up an All-Star center from the Western Conference.

If the rumors are true, then the Bulls are trying to get DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings. If it happens, this trade will result in the Bulls giving up a lot of players. The Bulls might give up Jerian Grant, Taj Gibson and even Jimmy Butler just to get Cousins on board.

The first two names are understandable, but trading off Butler could be a big deal for the Bulls because he is regarded as the team's franchise and future star.

With the arrival of Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo, it could be possible that the Bulls are gearing away from Butler and concentrating on bringing in Cousins who can dominate the middle. However, this is a big gamble and whether it works or not depends if the deal falls through.

Cousins is an undoubtedly talented center and is one of the best in the league. He averages close to a double-double per game. At the moment, he is averaging around 25.8 points and 8.6 rebounds each game. He could be a great addition to the Bulls if they keep most of their core as they would definitely shift powers to the East with Cousins coming in.

Rondo previously played with Cousins in Sacramento so there is some familiarity there, but if they lose Butler to gain Cousins, it would definitely be an interesting trade.

Butler is geared to have a great season this year and his early performances show. In the new campaign, he averages 21 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game — all better than his career averages.

It remains to be seen if this deal will push through and how it will affect the clubs.
