'Chicago Fire' season 5 episode 11 spoilers, news: Dawson and Casey face difficulties at work; actor Joe Minoso rescued by real-life Chicago firefighters
Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Casey (Jesse Spencer) each deal with struggles on the field in the upcoming episode of NBC's firehouse drama "Chicago Fire" season 5.
Titled "Who Lives and Who Dies," the upcoming episode features major challenges for two firehouse 51 responders. According to the official synopsis, Dawson finds it very difficult to keep her feelings in check during an ambo run involving a pregnant teen. Casey, on the other hand, is forced to come up with a split-second decision when two victims need life-saving assistance from him. As a result, Casey is left to face with the incident's repercussions. Severide (Taylor Kinney) goes back to the hospital and shares a bond with Anna (guest star Charlotte Sullivan). While she continues to recover from surgery, Severide forms a closer relationship with his new friend.
On another note, one of the show's cast recently found himself calling the real Chicago Fire Department after a minor mishap. Joe Minoso, who is known for his role as Squad 3 firefighter Joe Cruz, stunned Chicago firefighters when he called for help after being trapped in an elevator last Wednesday.
Minoso was able to capture a footage of the rescue, along with a message thanking the firefighters who quickly responded to his call. "Slightly embarrassed cause I know who I'm gonna have to call," the actor wrote on Instagram. He further stated, "But less than 15 minutes later the #chicagofiredepartment was there when I needed them. Thank you so much for the help boys!"
The video shows the elevator door being pried open by several Chicago firefighters, who are surprised when they quickly recognize the person they were rescuing. "That's why you call the Chicago Fire Department," Minoso said in the short clip.
The fifth season of "Chicago Fire" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
