'Chicago P.D.' season 4 spoilers: No wedding bells for Linstead just yet; Lindsay's father to cause 'a lot of trouble'
Those who were hoping to see Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) pop the question to Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) in "Chicago P.D." season 4 will be in for a bad news.
Speaking to TVLine, Bush and Soffer both agreed it is too early for the wedding bells to be ringing for "Linstead," as fans who support the pair call them.
"People live together for a while. We're getting a little ahead of ourselves," Soffer said, quipping that being "career cops," they are to "focus on their professionalism for a minute."
"I don't think that's Erin's priority in any way," Bush simply said, adding that such commitment is not on her priority list at the moment especially with the goings-on in "Chicago P.D." season 4.
Lindsay's father has resurfaced, which Bush said was actually planned last year, but did not make it in because the cases featured on the show around that time were "too big and complicated."
It appears that "Chicago P.D." season 4 has finally opened up an opportunity to revisit the storyline. "All that I know so far is that [Bunny] tells me he's in Chicago and wants to meet me. I know that a couple of facts that Erin thought she knew about her dad turn out to not be true," the actress said.
Soffer teased that his girlfriend's dad will bring "a lot of trouble" and for that, he expects Lindsay to turn to Jay for help and comfort in "Chicago P.D." season 4 instead of Voight (Jason Beghe) now that they are closer than ever.
The current season is approaching the fall finale, "300,000 Likes," which entails Antonio (Jon Seda) getting a job offer, which sets the stage for his transition to "Chicago Justice."
The team will be dealing with the homicide of the sole witness to a rape and murder against a young man, which they believe was orchestrated by the family of the accused.
"Chicago P.D." season 4 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
