In hopes of covering for Rolando McClain's absence, the Dallas Cowboys have reportedly signed Justin Durant to a one-year deal.

Bleacher Report revealed the deal after the Cowboys were looking for a way to fill-in for McClain. The 30-year-old previously played with the Atlanta Falcons and was less than impressive during his time there.

Dallas are hoping that he can revive his career as he returns to the Cowboys after already playing for the team in the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Many are hoping that he can replicate his past performances with the team and do better than he did with the Falcons last year as he tallied 82 tackles and had three pass deflections.

There is still no information on how much the deal is worth, but they are certain that Durant will be a utilized player this year.

Durant's career has not been without injuries. He has only played all 16 games once in his career and has had a list of injuries that range from a torn bicep to a sprained elbow.

Dallas are lucky to have landed Durant in the free agency as McClain's suspension leaves them bare in the linebacker position.

McClain was said to have entered stage three of the league's substance policy. He has constantly been scrutinized in how he handles himself outside the field and the 27-year-old will now face a very stiff fine for going against league rules.

It remains to be seen how McClain's future will pan out with the Cowboys, after his constant mishaps with the league and even the franchise continue to hamper his development as a player.

According to Pro Football Rumors, McClain has even gotten coach Jason Garrett and team owner Jerry Jones to be at odds with each otther as the former was thought to be giving preferential treatment to McClain during his absence from the squad.
