The Dallas Cowboys cannot seem to catch a break as they lose their starting quarterback during the preseason, and now, they are looking to see how they can remain relevant in the league.

It is big news that Tony Romo is out for around six to 10 weeks after suffering a fractured vertebra while in action against the Seattle Seahawks.

Romo was only three plays in and was hit in a play, causing him to go down in a heap of pain and never to return on the field again.

Fans feared the worst, and it apparently has come true with Romo out, and now, the outlook for the Cowboys is looking very bleak before the season even started.

At the moment, Dak Prescott has been named as the team's starting quarterback, and while he is a very capable young project, the Cowboys need another quarterback, one who is as experienced as Romo.

And with that, the rumor mill is buzzing, and it appears that the Cowboys are being offered Mark Sanchez by the Denver Broncos.

Initially signed to try and replace Peyton Manning who retired after the 2015 season, it appears that the partnership between the Broncos and Sanchez has not worked out.

The Broncos have picked Trevor Siemian as their starting quarterback, leaving Sanchez as the odd-man out for the team.

Obviously, the Cowboys need an experienced quarterback, and maybe it is the second chance that Sanchez is looking for as he did not make the cut for the Broncos.

However, one of the biggest problems facing the two teams for making a trade is the size of the salary Sanchez has along with him.

According to Spotrac, Sanchez is set to make around $4.5 million in the coming year, and that may a little bit too much for a player considered as a part-time replacement.

Unless Sanchez agrees to lower his salary, then it is unlikely that the deal will develop.
