'Dance Moms' news and updates: Abby Lee Miller's $5M fraud case sentencing delayed to 2017

"Dance Moms" coach Abby Lee Miller may be facing some hard time after her sentence which is scheduled for January of next year. | Lifetime

As "Dance Moms" season 7 is currently under production, dance teacher Abby Lee Miller has been waiting for her sentencing after she was charged with counts of fraud and a new charge this year of violating currency reporting laws. Good news for her is that the sentence will be delayed until 2017.

According to Deadline, the sentencing was originally supposed to occur on Dec. 2, 2016, but the government council has asked to have it moved. In paperwork filed by U.S. Attorney David Hickton, it read, "Due to a scheduling conflict, government counsel is unavailable on that date ... The Government respectfully requests that the sentencing date be continued until Friday, January 20, 2017, at a time convenient for the court."

Miller has been having a tricky time trying to get out of jail, and most recently, reports are even saying that she has sabotaged a routine that was being planned for her show.

Miller was said to have prepared a boxing routine for the elite dance group but both moms and dancers wanted to scrap the sequence. They asked Miller for approval of a different routine, but Miller has opted to sabotage their plan and she sent a group of extra dancers to join their performance.

What's more, Miller reportedly even requested to have her own group disqualified by the competition director. When asked about it, she denied having done anything of the sort.

With all this bad news connected to Miller, one can't help but think that things are turning south for the glorified dance coach. Will Miller be able to get back on her feet, or will she be doing some hard time behind bars when 2017 rolls in?

"Dance Moms" airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
