'Dancing with the Stars' Results, Elimination Recap: 2 Pairs Receive First Perfect 10 Scores

The "Dancing with the Stars" episode last Monday on ABC focused on each of the contestants' most memorable year. In the performances, two pairs danced away with the first perfect 10 scores of the season. The highest total score was surprisingly earned by Willow Shields and Mark Ballas.

Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough started the performances on the floor with a tango as she reminisced about winning the gold medal at the Olympics in Beijing. Their dance was athletic and superb. They earned the first 10 score of the season for a total score of 36 points.

Next up was Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd dancing the rumba. He described how his father denounced him after he came out as gay. The pair earned 30 points as the judges and the audience were touched by their emotional performance.

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker were up next with a tango. He recalled how his band became popular. The pair ended up with 34 points from the judges who complimented his energy.

Then Robert Herjavec partnered with Kym Johnson in a waltz which he dedicated to his mother who died of ovarian cancer in 2006. They found favor with the judges who were impressed with their elegance, awarding them with 34 points.

Chris Soules and Witney Carson then brought rumba to the floor as he reminisced meeting his current girlfriend on "The Bachelor." However, the judges were not impressed and gave the duo just 27 points.

Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev then performed a jazz routine as she recalled the birth of her son. They got 30 points.

Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy then performed a waltz as she described how she was hurt by the tabloids that constantly compare her face to her father's. The routine was technically superb and the judges gave them 35 points.

Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani were up next with a foxtrot as she celebrated landing a role in "Three's Company." They got 28 points.

Willow Shields and Mark Ballas then came up with a contemporary dance which showcased her work in the "Hunger Games" film. The routine found a lot of favor from the judges who gave them the top score of 39.

Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess performed last and they opted to do a contemporary number which was dedicated to an incident in Iraq which saw his leg and arm blown off. The routine caused the judges to fight back their tears as they awarded the duo 32 points.

After the results were announced, the show bid goodbye to Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd.
