'Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel' DLC release date, news, rumors: Next content pack coming this October? Latest trailer reveals new enemies, maps
"Dark Souls 3" has been a massive hit among the gamers today, capturing the interest of many due to its very intriguing theme and action-packed sequences. Nevertheless, there is always a room for a game to expand, thus it is expected that a new content pack will be released very soon. The first DLC pack for the action role-playing game (ARPG) is called "Ashes of Ariandel," and if the rumors are correct, it will be available starting this October.
The latest gameplay trailer for "Ashes of Ariandel" was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2016. Bandai Namco gave the fans a glimpse of what is in store for them once they begin to explore the dark and mysterious world of Ariandel. As reported by Game N Guide, the trailer shows more ferocious enemies and more map locations that the players can explore for adventure. By facing the enemies that are now residing in Ariandel, the players will be able to unravel the dark mystery about how a once beautiful place ended up as a barren land filled with evil entities.
Aside from the new characters and maps, "Ashes of Ariandel" will be introducing a new set of weapons and armors that the players can use to fight against the new threat. Likewise, the players will discover a new list of magic spells for protection.
On the other hand, Polygon reported that the "Ashes of Ariandel" will be the first of the two planned DLCs for "Dark Souls 3" in the coming months, which will mark the end of the highly popular game franchise. From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that it might be the right time to conclude the "Dark Souls" franchise. However, Miyazaki also mentioned the possibility of the franchise getting revived after the last two content packs for "Dark Souls 3."
"As president of From Software, I'm not completely denying the possibility of bringing back the franchise in the future. There could be someone else in my company who wants to work on new installments. But we believe that the series will end after the two DLC," said Miyazaki.
