'Darksiders: Remastered Edition' release date news: title now available for download; comes free with original version
"Darksiders: Remastered Edition" is now available to download and play. Those who already have the original title can readily install the game without a cost.
THQ Nordic just released the "Darksiders: Remastered Edition" on Steam at a $20 price tag. The good news is, players who already own the original title will be able to get the remastered version on Steam. To do this, they just have to refresh or restart their Steam page and the remastered version will be included in their library.
"Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War — the first Horseman of the Apocalypse — stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell," the game description reads.
It should be noted, though, that both the original and the remastered titles can be played, but saving the progress may not always work well between the two versions, VG 24/7 wrote.
Those who want to grab a copy should also take this time to do so. The "Darksiders: Remastered Edition" is on the shelves for a low price of $4. There is also a franchise pack, which already carries the remastered edition, the "Darksiders II" remaster for the Deathinitive Edition and the soundtrack of the latter title for only $10. The discount offers are only available until Dec. 2.
It was back in July when "Darksiders: Remastered Edition" was announced. After that, players and game enthusiasts began to expect its arrival following a leak suggesting that it was originally slated for an October release but will be delayed for a month. The version has a number of offers like 4K support and visual improvements, among others.
This is not the first time THQ Nordic has extended generosity to the gamers. In September, the "Titan Quest" update version was given for free. The coming of the "Darksiders: Remastered Edition" is reportedly the company's way to revive its THQ brands.
