'DayZ' PS4 and Xbox One release date update: Zombie survival game becomes available to consoles; Date to be announced at E3 2016?
Game developer Bohemia Interactive has teased that a current-gen release of "DayZ" is in the offing, but two years after it was first bared, fans have yet to find out an exact "DayZ" PS4 and Xbox One release date.
Past reports have confirmed that the "DayZ" that would be given a PlayStation 4 (PS4) version would be a standalone game complete with unique systems made specifically for console gaming. The reports emphasized that the version would not be a mere modded ARMA 2 ported on the console.
It was Dean Hall, designer of ARMA 2 mod "DayZ," who first announced that the zombie survival game is headed to PS4, but in the two years that passed since then, not a word has been given about a definite release date. Check out the video below, which was uploaded on VG24/7's YouTube Channel.
Bohemia Interactive promised that a console prototype would be released in the first quarter of 2016, but the Twitter confirmation claimed the version would not be for player use since their current focus is on developing the game for PC users.
The Bitbag has reported that Bohemia Interactive might still be working on the console versions, considering they showcased the game progress on PCs and not consoles when "DayZ" was shared at the PAX East (formerly Penny Arcade Expo) back in April.
At the moment, the standalone "DayZ" released on Steam has received mostly negative reviews from fans particularly because of the lack of information concerning "DayZ" PS4 and Xbox One release date.
Still, those who are waiting for the "Dayz" PS4 and Xbox One release date are confident it would push through, since persons of authority have previously confirmed the possibility.
Bohemia Interactive is yet to announce its attendance at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 that's happening on June 14-16, and fans are hoping against hope that an official release date would finally be announced then.
