'Deadpool' Movie Release Date, Cast News: Morena Baccarin to Star With Ryan Reynolds
"Deadpool," the upcoming comic book-inspired movie from Fox and Marvel, recently added Morena Baccarin to its cast.
Baccarin is described as the main love interest for Deadpool played by Ryan Reynolds. In addition, former Mixed Martial Arts star Gina Carano is also due to step into the shoes of another comic book character Angel Dust.
Baccarin has appeared in a number of television shows including "Homeland" and "Firefly" and is currently appearing on "Gotham."
In "Deadpool," Baccarin's character will find love with a man who has a very bad facial deformation. This deformity happened when cancer-stricken Deadpool took an experimental drug that caused his face to scar horribly. However, the drug miraculously also gave him the ability to heal rapidly which made him impervious to injuries.
Reynolds is not new to the role of Deadpool as he already portrayed the character in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" which was released in 2009. In that film, Deadpool died in the end after his head was chopped off by Wolverine.
Reynolds recently tweeted an image of him standing by a costume prototype that he could end up using in the film. The actor was instrumental in getting "Deadpool" approved for production as it was his appearance in the test footage for the film that caused fans to show interest in the movie.
As for the other members of the cast, Daniel Cudmore has reportedly been roped in to play "Deadpool" started shooting last month. It is due for release about a year from now.
