'Death Stranding' release date, news, updates: Hideo Kojima to host a panel at PSX to talk about game

Hideo Kojima is going to work his magic again and this time he is partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring life to the PlayStation 4 (PS4) console exclusive game "Death Stranding."

The game was introduced to the public at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last June, and gamers will get to know more about "Death Stranding" this weekend because Kojima and his team are going to be at the PlayStation Experience (PSX) event. The panel will take place on Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. PT.

Meanwhile, a new trailer was also shown at the 2016 Games Awards ceremony, and it looks incredible graphics-wise.

In the trailer, a character resembling director Guillermo del Toro is seen carrying some sort of device with a baby in it. A group of armed soldiers led by "Doctor Strange" star Mads Mikkelsen also appears, and the latter look so lifelike. And in true Kojima fashion, the trailer was simply mesmerizing and strange at the same time. Unfortunately, they haven't released a gameplay video yet, so gamers will have to wait to see what the actual game looks like.

Not much is known about the project right now, but the first trailer for "Death Stranding" has already featured a character who looks just like "The Walking Dead's" Norman Reedus, so he should be in the game.

Jonathan Barkan of Bloody Disgusting! believes that Japanese horror manga artist Junji Ito may be involved with the game. Ito was working on "Silent Hills" with Kojima and del Toro before it got canceled, and Barkan thinks Kojima might have asked him to join the project.

Besides the usual single-player campaign, the game will also have an online multiplayer mode. IGN has reported that "Death Stranding" is scheduled to come out sometime before 2019. The publication says the game may also feature a heroine.
