'Descendants of the Sun' sequel news 2016: Are Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo getting married?
There are rumors that "Descendants of the Sun" stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are getting married even as a sequel to their high-rating drama is said to be in the works.
It cannot be denied that "Descendants of the Sun" was a huge success, and that success could be greatly attributed to the unique chemistry of its lead stars. The series took the world by storm, and now, there are speculations that the actors of the series are in a relationship in real life.
According to Asia Stars News, the reports that Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are dating off-camera cannot be confirmed as of yet, even if pictures of them holding hands have gone viral. Fans are hoping, based on the photos, that wedding bells would soon ring for their favorite stars.
However, while a real-life wedding may or may not happen for the two, they could be seen together on-screen once more for a possible "Descendants of the Sun" sequel. Apparently, negotiations are ongoing for the second season of the series. Morning Ledger likewise said the two could be reprising their roles as Captain Yoo Shi-jin and Kang Mo-yeon in a sequel, and perhaps, that's when [on-screen] wedding bells would finally ring.
Recent reports said the head of KBS Drama, Jung Sung-ho, is doing everything he can to bring the two back together on-screen as a way to repay viewers from all over the globe who followed "Descendants of the Sun" in its full run.
As for the real-life love story of its stars, it looks like Song Joong-ki would have his work cut out for him if he really wants to get together with Song Hye-kyo. According to Movie News Guide, Korean star Lee Min-ho has admitted his affection towards the actress, even saying she is his "ideal type."
"Descendants of the Sun" is currently under negotiations and would hopefully be released in 2017.
