'Destiny 2' release date news update: 'Destiny: Rise of Iron DLC' to come out in September; Sequel expected in 2017?

The sequel to the first-person shooter video game "Destiny" has already been; however, game developer Bungie and publisher Activision have yet to confirm the release date of the title. There are reports suggesting that "Destiny 2" might come out in 2017 as the game developer is currently focusing on the third DLC update of the original game.

"Destiny: Rise of Iron DLC" is said to highlight the second anniversary of the game in September. There are reports saying that the new DLC will help first-time players to develop their skills as the company intends to give new gamers better gaming experience.

"'Destiny" is one of the most difficult first-person shooter video games in the market today. If Bungie decides to make the current title more first-timer friendly, that would be the best way to attract new players to try the game.

The game developer has taken some time to release the DLC pack, which is also the reason why the second installment has been delayed. Despite the uncertainty, the sequel is already available for pre-order, which also is a good indication that the next title of the franchise will definitely come out.

Meanwhile, during an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle, Scott Taylor, the "Rise of Iron" Executive Producer, said that players will certainly enjoy the next DLC update.

"With Taken King, we had the Spark — the character boost — so we're going to be doing similar things like that to make sure that if you see this and you're like "I want that axe!" that you can get into the game and play it," Taylor explains. "We think it's a really great time for new players to come in and see all of Destiny. There's a lot of content. We actually think that the storyline and the new space are sweet, and the aesthetic of the place — it's going to be a great jumping on place for new fans."

As of the moment, fans will have to wait for next expansion pack before even thinking about the release of "Destiny 2," which is not expected to come out this year.
