'Destiny: House of Wolves' Release Date, News: Game Gets Trailer Video But Has No Raid
The eagerly awaited "House of Wolves" expansion pack is coming to "Destiny" on May 19. A trailer has just been released by the game developer Bungie.
A bit of a letdown was an announcement from Bungie that the game will not feature a brand-new raid which many fans had been expecting. Bungie said it did not "make the decision lightly."
The developer also referred to the popularity of Raids in "Destiny" and further outlined its plans to release a "new Raid later this year."
Gamespot noted that the absence of a raid in the "House of Wolves" expansion pack meant that a rumor that surfaced earlier was not true.
Bungie said the game will come with a battle arena named "Prison of Elders" where gamers can cooperate. He said the arena will expose them to "variety, replayability and skill."
The trailer for the expansion pack focused on the Awoken Queen of the Reef, who is voiced by Kirsten Potter. She said in the trailer that the Fallen have turned against them. Then she offered "the riches of the realm" as bounty for the Fallen and encouraged the Guardians to take revenge on them. The plot indicated that players will be tasked to work for the Queen of the Reef.
As for the Reef, Forbes stated that it is going to be a new playable area in the game but will be much smaller than a planet.
As for the delayed release of "House of Wolves," Forbes said Bungie was trying to resolve the problems that were found in the previous expansion pack titled "Crota's End."
With five months having elapsed between the packs, fans who might have lost interest in the game could be tempted back by "House of Wolves."
