'Devious Maids' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Sol Rodriguez teases new season is 'the craziest, most shocking and funniest year'
Lifetime's "Devious Maids" season 4 made its premiere Monday, June 6, and the show is off to a maddening and hilarious start. This season is going to be exciting with some changes coming up after the Powell mansion was last seen falling apart after an explosion rocked it.
Marisol Suarez (Ana Ortiz) will form the primary support system for Evelyn Powell (Rebecca Wisocky), who will be undergoing some big changes in her life in this fourth season run.
Rosie Westmore's (Dania Ramirez) boss, Genevieve Delatour (Susan Lucci), finds the former's quirky and sunny personality quite irksome. The latter is still in the process of getting over Zoila Diaz's (Judy Reyes) absence as well as her frank and caustic wit.
Marisol, in the meantime, will find new romance but will have problems when Jesse Morgan (Nathan Owens), a former lover, comes back into the picture.
Carmen Luna (Roselyn Sanchez) will keep on following her dreams of a successful singing career as her cousin Daniela Mercado (Sol Rodriguez) comes into the picture and sort of agitates things.
Rodriguez, a newcomer on the show, told the International Business Times, "Daniela comes to Beverly Hills to pursue her dreams of being a Hollywood star. She is going to do whatever it takes to be a star, and nobody can get in her way."
The actress drops another bombshell which will soon come up this season. It would seem that Daniela believed Carmen to be her cousin. But much later she will find out in surprise that the latter is in fact her mother.
This revelation would bring some exciting drama into Carmen's storyline and ties up with her confession in the previous season that she did have a child but had given her up for adoption several years back.
Carmen has also put her career first before her personal as well as family life. In earlier seasons, it became evident that her only reason for being in Los Angeles was to carve out a career for herself as a singer. Nothing else mattered. However, since her career has not really taken off, despite all her self-professed hard work, Rodriguez teases that Daniela's presence may not be very welcome. More so that the latter is only a reminder — a younger, much more talented, and even more driven reminder — of all the things the older singer has not achieved.
Besides this, Rodriguez also dished out on the identity of the killer, and it is someone she never thought it would be.
She admitted, "This season so far is the craziest, most shocking and funniest year."
The actress warns viewers that it would not do well to miss a single episode because that would only leave them behind in the story, even giving them practical advice of visiting the toilet before the show to avoid wetting themselves from all the hard-packed punches to be delivered this season.
She even pointed out that this new season, same as the previous one, will end in a big and shocking cliffhanger.
"Devious Maids" airs Mondays on Lifetime, with the next episode coming up on June 13, titled "Another One Wipes the Dust."
