If it's training that sparring buddies Goku and Krillin want, then it's training they are going to get as they pit their skills against past adversaries in the next episode of "Dragon Ball Super." Who will finish Master Roshi's errand first and win that game-changing secret skill he professed to have?

The previous episode of the Japanese anime series showed a restless Goku in desperate need of a sparring partner. When his brief training with his son Gohan, all garbed up in his Great Saiyaman costume, ended up ruining the field he was supposed to be plowing for his wife Chichi, Goku was forced to go and ask his old training buddy, Krillin, to spare some time off his police work to help him get stronger.

The complacent Krillin's reluctance quickly dissolved when his daughter, Marron, said she wanted to have a strong Papa. So the two went off to their old trainer, Master Roshi, who eventually sent them out to an unnamed island on an errand to find an herb called Paradise Plant.

The next episode of "Dragon Ball Super" will pick up at the cave where Goku and Krillin find themselves in the midst of seemingly gigantic versions of their past adversaries. Krillin, who has not been involved in a battle of catastrophic scale in a very long time, quickly becomes threatened, but he will soon regain his footing in the episode aptly titled "Defeat These Terrifying Enemies! Krillin's Fighting Spirit Returns!"

According to the episode synopsis translated from the original Japanese by Twitter user Herms98, the change in Krillin's willingness to fight also alters the appearance of the illusions. Will this alteration make the battle easier for Goku and Krillin, or will it ramp up the stakes and put them in deeper trouble?

More importantly, will Krillin's reawakened fighting spirit give him an advantage over Goku and win him Master Roshi's secret energy-boosting skill? Can this potential victory be enough to refuel Krillin's passion for the martial arts and eventually make him sign up for the Omniverse Tournament with Goku?

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 76 airs on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 9 a.m. JST on Fuji TV.
