'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' updates, release date: Opening cinematics for the game leaked online
A lot of "Dragon Ball" fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." The good news is that the developers have released the game's opening cinematics online. What's more is that the dates for the opening and closing of the beta version have been announced.
The clip plays like a recruitment video with Trunks trying to convince the player to join the Time Patrol. He also speaks about the mission of the group to protect history and save everyone's memories. Another character also pops up to remind players of the rules while staying in the Time Patrol headquarters, basic reminders like, "no kamehamehas in the common area" and "no flying without a permit."
The game is also reported to start its closed beta for the PS4 this week. Accoring to Saiyan Island, the people chosen to participate are gamers who pre-ordered "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" in North America, Europe and Japan.
The closed beta begins on Saturday, Oct. 8, and it ends on Monday, Oct. 10. Players can actually download the beta a day earlier (Oct. 7), so that playing time isn't compromised from Saturday to Monday.
Players who choose not to pre-order the game can still participate in the open beta on Friday, Oct. 14. The beta closes, however, on Sunday, Oct. 16.
Reports also say that people who pre-order the game can get Black Goku as a playable character, adding up to a rumored roster of 87 characters. Those characters include franchise classics like Frieza, Majin Buu, and Cell. What's more is that the various versions of those characters would be available as well so fans can expect to use Perfect Cell, Kid Buu, Super Buu, and even young and old versions of Goku.
"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is set to be released on Oct. 25 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
