Dragon Ball Z Release Date: Plot to Include a 'Meaner' Protagonist Goku
Dragon Ball Z fans have something to look forward to again as reports claim that a new movie will be released in Japanese theaters sometime in April or May 2015.
As manga creator Akira Toriyama confirmed in an interview with Shueisha's V Jump, the movie is definitely on and he'll even be involved with the script and character designs.
There was already some speculation that the plot would include a meaner version of the protagonist Goku. Japnation AniManga goes on assuming that funny lines will probably be coming from a second Goku, but it has not been confirmed yet.
"This time will of course will be a continuation of the previous Battle of Gods, but I've deliberately increased the amount of action scenes by a good deal," Toriyama said.
He also promised that the film will be "utterly funny", but he didn't reveal any details yet.
A Dragon Ball insider allegedly said, "With regards to the contents, they told me, 'Keep it a secret!'... but it should be super-duper interesting!"
Toriyama seems to be excited about the upcoming film, asking fans to look forward to the movie. It is reported that his first manga editor rarely ever gives compliments, so having been praised by the said editor for his new work really gave him a confidence boost.
The trailer for the film is already available at dragonball2015.com and is set to premiere in Japanese theaters and cinemas during Japan's Golden week string of holidays. However, nothing has been said yet about when it will be released on the international scene.
