'Falling Skies' Season 5 Release Date, Spoilers: Questions That Desperately Need To Be Answered
TNT's action sci-fi thriller "Falling Skies" has been in the thick of production for Season 5 just after Season 4 was completed. Ten episodes are being prepared for Season 5, and as of writing, its projected release will be in the summer of 2015.
Season 5 will be the last in the whole series. It's been said that Catalina Sandino Moreno will be cast in a recurring role as Isabella. The Oscar-nominated Moreno, who gave such a nuanced performance in the role of a desperate drug mule in "Maria Full of Grace" a few years back, will now be acting as a radical academic, who experienced a change of heart and became a hard-nosed realist after the aliens came and attacked.
Among the questions most discussed by fans online, which Season 5 will hopefully provide the answers to, are the following:
Are the Great Enemy of the Espheni the same aliens who rescued Tom (Noah Wyle)?
Was a female Espheni the one that Tom saw at the end of Season 4 that made him say "you're beautiful"?
Was that Espheni actually Tom's wife, Rebecca (Jennifer Ferrin) brought back to life by the aliens in some other form, and for as of yet unknown reason?
Will the remaining humans still be able to regain control of the planet, and will they be able to rebuild it?
Those are questions that have no easy answers, but since Season 5 will be the last installment of "Falling Skies," here's hoping that all loose ends will be tied nicely by the time the show wraps up.
