'Fallout 4' PS4 Mods news & update: Update 1.8 bringing with PS4 mod support
Bethesda Game Studios recently confirmed that the upcoming update for their action role-playing video game franchise "Fallout" will be launched later this week for consoles. The update 1.8 will finally come with mod support for the PS4.
The video game developers recently announced the information through their Twitter page. They wrote, "Fallout4's 1.8 arrives on consoles later this week & will include PS4 Mod Support." The update will reportedly be launched on the PS4 and Xbox One.
On the other hand, the "Fallout 4" 1.8 update arrived earlier for PC gamers. According to reports, the patch made a few significant fixes. In the PC update, the developers fixed the game's sound effects, which often discontinued when reloading a particular area. Occasional crashing problems were also addressed as well as the reported problem with the Library/ Favorite Mods categories, which were incorrectly displayed at times.
In terms of "Fallout 4" game mods in PS4, Bethesda previously announced that they have successfully sealed the deal with Sony, allowing players to have mods for their "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim Special Edition" titles. However, gamers have limited access to the game mods. PS4 mods for the aforementioned titles are limited to those that use internal assets. To note, "Fallout 4" mods are available on the Xbox One and the PC version of the game.
According to reports, Bethesda is currently working on a deal to remove the limited access of mods for both titles. So far the video game developers haven't confirmed if Sony is willing to lift the restrictions, and allow PS4 owners to enjoy full modding experience with the titles.
When asked about the possibility of having the externals assets limit removed, Hines replied on Twitter, "I don't know. Having it work just like other platforms was not approved. This version was."
