'Fallout 4' Release Date, Latest News: Bethesda to Announce Details at E3 Event in June 2015
Bethesda Softworks is expected to announce the release of the much-awaited "Fallout 4" for PS4, Xbox One and PC when it holds its first press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, in June this year.
"Fallout"is a series of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games created by Interplay Entertainment. The series is set during the 22nd and 23rd centuries, but utilizes the setting and artwork influenced by post-war 1950's America.
"Fallout" and "Fallout 2" were the first two titles in the series which was developed by Black Isle Studios.
"Fallout 3" developed by Bethesda Softworks was released in 2008. "Fallout: New Vegas" developed by Obsidian Entertainment was released in 2010. Bethesda Softworks now has the rights to develop all future "Fallout" instalments.
Considering that the last game released was in 2010, speculations are mounting as to when "Fallout 4" will be released. A reference to this was made by an actor in 2013. An alleged trademark for Fallout 4 appeared in a website which eventually turned out to be a hoax. In 2013, rumors spread that the setting of the game would be in Massachusetts.
Recently, Bethesda's official website underwent a change. The old New Vegas header has been removed after five years. A "Fallout 3" artwork replaced it. The image depicted people falling in line to get inside a vault, indicating the release of the 2008 RPG. But no logo, number or title could be seen attached to the game.
A May 2016 release date was also rumored coming from an alleged source who claims to work for Bethesda and has the information on his LinkedIn profile.
More authoritative news is expected when Bethesda holds a press conference on E3 2015 about the release of "Fallout 4" along with "Wolfenstein," "Elder Scrolls 6" and "Dishonored."
