'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2B spoilers news: Blended family scattered; EP talks Daniel's fate
The AMC post-apocalyptic drama, "Fear the Walking Dead," returns on Aug. 21 for the mid-season premiere, and once again, fans have a whole lot of things to be excited about.
The finale for the first half of the season ended with Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Madison (Kim Dickens), Ofelia (Mercedes Mason), as well as Strand (Colman Domingo) making their way back to the boat, although fans never saw whether they made it. It is one of those questions which will be dealt with when "Fear the Walking Dead" comes back on AMC.
Another concern is Nick's (Frank Dillane) future. He opted to stay out with the undead rather than go back with his family when Abigail's mansion was burned down. The upcoming season may tell of his fate, whether he survives and where he will find himself.
Travis sacrificed being with Madison once he understood that his son Chris would not recover if he stayed in a place that could only see him as a threat. He hopes that, by not going back to the mansion and staying away from the Clarks, Chris will have a chance of getting better. But is staying away the right option? The next half of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 may be dealing with this question.
Another crazy vision claimed Daniel again, making him fire up the mansions in flames, with viewers thinking he may have died. Yet, the executive producer of the show, Dave Erickson, said otherwise.
"We don't see Daniel burn, and that's intentional," the EP shared with Entertainment Weekly. "I think what's important at the end of the midseason is that it's the impact on Ofelia and the rest of the characters that Daniel's gone. That's going to spin Ofelia specifically in a new direction for the back half..."
He went on to say that the last scene with Daniel would not be his last on the show. Daniel will not be back for the next half of the season, but he will be in season 3, Erickson assured.
For the first time in a very long while, the blended family that had boarded The Abigail are now spread to the four winds. As the season 2b commences, one primary question in the minds of avid "Fear the Walking Dead" fans is whether they will all be seeing each other again.
Erickson is confident that they will all find their way back eventually.
It's the how they go about finding each other again that's the most concerning, fans would say.
