'Final Fantasy 15' DLC release date news: Free 'Holiday Pack' arriving on Dec. 22
"Final Fantasy XV" will receive a holiday-themed update later this week. Developer Square Enix has announced that the downloadable content (DLC) titled "Holiday Pack" will be free for all players of the open world action role-playing video game.
In a Japanese press release (via Siliconera), the game developer detailed the content that will be arriving in the new update.
New Game Plus will allow players to start over from the beginning after having completed "Final Fantasy XV." Meanwhile, Social Media Photo Frames will add different frames to in-game photos. Players will be able to share their favorite ones on their social media accounts. Furthermore, there is also a Christmas-themed frame that will help set the mood for the upcoming holiday festivities.
Square Enix will also be releasing two versions of the upcoming DLC. "Holiday Pack" will be the free version while Season Pass holders will gain access to the "Holiday Pack+" version. Both DLCs include new accessories that help increase acquisition rates and lower stamina consumption. They will also give players a carnival ticket that will let them enter the Moogle Chocobo event to be held in late January 2017.
"Holiday Pack" will include a Level Stopper, the Annihilation Victory Song and a Mog Choco T-shirt. Meanwhile, the "Holiday Pack+" will include accessories such as a Protection Ring, Command Booster, Phantom Booster, the Instant Kill Victory Song, Battle Skill Victory Song, Key of Fortune, Stamina Anchor and Carnival Style. Furthermore, Season Pass players will also be given extra costumes and photo frames in January 2017.
The upcoming holiday DLC seems to be in line with Square Enix's post-launch plans for "Final Fantasy XV," which director Hajime Tabata talked about earlier this month.
"We want you to enjoy Final Fantasy XV for a long time to come. We have been listening to your ideas on how to make the game experience even better, and so in addition to the previously announced content, we'll be providing updates to the game throughout the coming year," he said in a blog post.
"Final Fantasy XV" is available to play for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
