'Final Fantasy 15' DLC release date news update: Holiday Pack announced; Mystery Disc battle with Square Enix CEO coming too
Days after the release of the decade-in-the-making game, "Final Fantasy XV," the talk now shifts to the downloadable content (DLC) set for the game.
The first one is the Holiday Pack, which will arrive later this month. It includes the New Game Plus feature, which is a staple in the "Final Fantasy" series that allows players to start a new game after finishing one.
They will be able to bring rare items or abilities they acquired from their previous go in the game. This feature will come in handy later this month as gamers are still navigating through "Final Fantasy XV" at the moment.
This "Final Fantasy XV" DLC will also come with the Level Cap Creation feature, which allows players to challenge themselves by limiting the level on their party.
Apart from the Holiday Pack, Square Enix is also looking to release a Mystery Disc DLC inspired by the live-stream event of the same name from last week.
The said demo ended with a battle featuring the Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda as the boss. Fans seem to love the idea of being able to fight the main man in an epic battle in "Final Fantasy XV."
The overwhelming response for it appears to have resulted in an actual DLC release. Game director Hajime Tabata revealed in a Famitsu live stream that they will make the boss battle available in "Final Fantasy XV."
Tabata did not say if the other boss battle from the Mystery Disc event, which features a bigger and more sinister version of Noctis' pals, Prompto will also be included.
A release date for the Holiday Pack for "Final Fantasy XV" is yet to be announced, but fans should not wait that long to get their hands on it.
"Final Fantasy XV" was released last Nov. 29 and quickly became the highest selling installment in the series with five million copies shipped on the first day of release.
