The fans of the highly popular "Final Fantasy" series were delighted when Square Enix announced their plans to do a remake of the classic game title "Final Fantasy 7." However, the Japanese game studio has not yet confirmed the possible release date of "Final Fantasy 7" remake, as well as the changes that the players should expect from the original game.

As reported by Movie News Guide, the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will still revolve around the massive AVALANCHE resistance led by the game's main protagonist, Cloud Strife. The villainous organization, Shinra Corp, will be faced by Cloud in order to restore peace and order in the world.

However, it should be expected that there will be a lot of improvements over the original "Final Fantasy 7" game title due to this generation's highly modernized gaming technology. With this, there are also rumors that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will also have versions for the latest gaming consoles, PlayStation 4 Pro and Nintendo Switch. Yibada reported that the remake is likely to be ported to the new consoles given the timing of the game's development and expected release.

For now, the rumors point to a 2017 release date for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake. It should also be noted, however, that Square Enix has no plans yet to release the game beyond this generation's latest PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles

Meanwhile, it is also rumored that Square Enix will be among the participants of this year's PlayStation Experience (PSX). During their presentation, Square Enix might formally present the "Final Fantasy 7" remake as one of their upcoming game projects in 2017. The PSX 2017 will happen from Dec. 3 to 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

Aside from the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, Square Enix is also expected to provide some details regarding their other huge game project, "Kingdom Hearts 3."

For now, the fans are advised to wait for Square Enix's official announcement and treat the initial rumors with a grain of salt.
