'Final Fantasy 7 remake' release date rumors and news: Trailer footage to be released by Square Enix at E3?

The remake of the "Final Fantasy 7" has been announced by Square Enix last year. Fans of the franchise are very excited to know that it was finally happening; however, no significant details have been given by the game developer ever since. New reports suggest that the company will provide information about the upcoming game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016.

Nonetheless, the rumors have yet to be confirmed by Square Enix. It has been pretty disappointing for "Final Fantasy" players so far. The highly anticipated remake, along with "Kingdom Hearts 3," was not included in the list of games that will come out in the remainder of the fiscal year. If rumors prove to be true, fans will have to wait until March 2017 before "Final Fantasy 7" hits the market.

The games on the list include "Rise of the tomb Raider" PS4 version, "Final Fantasy XV," and "Dues Ex: Mankind Divided."

Meanwhile, it is speculated that fans might see trailer footage of the game at E3. There are also rumors suggesting that the title's release date will be announced during the event.

During his interview with Game Informer, Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of "Final Fantasy 7 remake," said that the title will be released per episode. Each episode will be rolled out as a full-scale game.

"It will essentially be a full-scale game for each part of the multi-part series [...] if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game," the producer said.

Kitase added that it only makes sense to release the game per episode because it already has a preexisting story.

"Whereas with Final Fantasy VII Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series... So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game."
