'Flip or Flop' canceled rumors: Christina and Tarek El Moussa break up to cause HGTV show's cancellation?
Tarek El Moussa has officially filed for a divorce with co-star and wife, Christina, and the two has a big fight during their recent episode of "Flip or Flop." Meanwhile, HGTV might cancel the series, but Christina is already talking with the network in creating her own spin-off.
Stars of the house flipping show, Tarek and Christina El Moussa, announced in December last year that they are going to split due to an altercation that happened in May involving a gun that caused the police to visit their home.
This January, PEOPLE confirmed that Tarek has already filed for divorce from his wife. But it appears that the network isn't happy about it.
According to In Touch Weekly, HGTV wants Tarek and Christina to cooperate with each other while "Flip or Flop" is still running or else they will sue the estranged couple for a breach of contract.
Unfortunately, Tarek and Christina were not able to maintain composure in their most recent episode titled "Midcentury Miss" which might cause "Flip or Flop" to be canceled.
Tarek and Christina bought a 1,600-square-foot house in La Habra, California from a real estate wholesaler, and according to Realtor, the two took several shortcuts just to get the flipping quickly done.
The estranged couple had garnered $32,000 more over their estimated cost on upgrades and repairs during that episode. At the same time, the two showed a feisty fight over the color scheme of the house, which resulted in a mediocre-looking house than their previous flips.
Now, Christina has been confirmed to be negotiating with HGTV to have her own spin-off series from "Flip or Flop."
The reality star previously said that she doesn't really need Tarek and that she wants to have a "younger, sexier, better-looking co-star." But the network would rather have the two work out their differences to save "Flip or Flop" because it won't have the same impact if they will not be working together on houses.
