'For Honor' release date, latest news: Gamestop reveals exclusive Collector's Edition priced at $220
Ubisoft's upcoming online-focused hack-and-slash game "For Honor" has launched its collector's edition called the Apollyon Collector's Edition.
As announced on their website, Gamestop will be serving as the exclusive retailer of "For Honor" Apollyon Collector's Edition, and the retailer has priced it at the hefty amount of $220. However, the collector's edition is listed only for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
The upcoming game's premium edition showcases a 14-inch "highly" detailed statue of the game's main warlord, Apollyon, as its centerpiece. Aside from this, the $220 premium package also includes the video game's Gold Edition, an exclusive Apollyon lithograph, and an Origin's Note about Apollyon. The whole set is housed by a specially-designed Premium Collector's Edition Packaging.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, Ubisoft previously offered a "For Honor" Collector's Edition in their Uplay shop, it but has since been sold out. Ubisoft's previous offering was priced much lower than that offered by Gamestop, and it featured items such as three individual faction helmets on their stand, an exclusive lithograph, and a digital soundtrack.
The upcoming "For Honor" video game is set during a medieval period and is filled with fantasy elements. Players can choose to play as a character from three different factions — The Legion, The Chosen, and The Warborn. The three factions represent different groups — the knights, the samurai, and the Vikings.
Gamers will be able to master medieval weaponry and participate in violent and fast-paced melee combat, while also be engaged with the game's story campaign and novel multiplayer modes.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the game was announced during Ubisoft's E3 press conference in 2015, and a CGI trailer and a gameplay demo were shown to promote the company's first attempt at creating a hack-and-slash video game.
"For Honor" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 14, 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A beta of the upcoming game will take place in January, and interested gamers can find out how to register here.
