'For Honor' release date, latest news: Ubisoft announces Season Pass and free DLC plans

Ubisoft has recently confirmed rumors surrounding the video game "For Honor" by announcing the development of its Season Pass and revealing all the details there is to know about it.

In a new trailer, the game developer company has shared to the gaming community its plans to provide post-launch support for its upcoming "Vikings-versus-knights-versus-samurai" video game epic. The video also explains what sort of content gamers can expect from the game's Season Pass.

In a blog post published on its official website, Ubisoft detailed the main contents of the "For Honor" Season Pass. Inspired by the success of their other video game, "Rainbow Six: Siege," "For Honor" will have a series of free content updates released over the course of the three seasons, including new maps, modes, and gear. However, Season Pass holders will get to unlock the free content earlier than regular players.

The $40 Season Pass of "For Honor" will introduce six additional heroes over the course of the year, which are to be released in batches of two at the beginning of each new season of the Faction War. These heroes can be unlocked using in-game currency. However, Season Pass holders get to have access to these heroes seven days before they are available to other players.

In addition, Season Pass owners will also get to receive six elite outfits for the new heroes, an exclusive sunbeam effect on emotes for all heroes, three exclusive emblem outlines; three scavenger crates that unlock additional gear, and a 30-Day Champion Status which gives XP boosts.

Aside from the Season Pass, Ubisoft also announced that interested gamers looking to get an early taste of "For Honor" will have the chance to do so at the open beta launch on Feb. 9. Gamers will get a chance to test out the game's Elimination, Brawl, and Duel Modes. They will also get to engage in battle as nine of the 12 playable heroes of "For Honor."

"For Honor" will be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Feb. 14. The Season Pass will be available for purchase along with the main game, or as part of the game's Gold Edition.
