The Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy A7 are both manufactured by Samsung, but there is a huge difference between the two devices when it comes to design. In terms of specs, the Note 3 is ahead.

Design

Samsung has long preferred to create smartphones with plastic bodies and the Galaxy Note 3 is no exception. As for its back, it features faux leather which is edged with a stitch. A major advantage on the Note 3 is its S Pen stylus which the Galaxy A7 does not have. The Pen stylus can be used with several apps on the device. As for the Galaxy A7, it has a full metal body, a smooth finish on its back panel and curved edges, giving it a premium look. The device also looks very much like the iPhone and is super slim, measuring just 6.3 mm.

Display

The Note 3 has a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. The Galaxy A7 has a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401pixels per inch.

Specs

On the Note 3 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU, and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the Galaxy A7, its international version has an Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset, a quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz CPU, and an Adreno 405 GPU.

Memory

Both devices have memory slots, which can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB. In terms of RAM, the Note 3 has 3 GB while the Galaxy A7 has 2 GB.

Camera

Both devices have similar 13 megapixel cameras.

Price

The Galaxy A7 could be priced at $491 upon its release while the Note 3 is priced at $149 with a two-year contract.
