Galaxy Note 3 vs. LG G Flex Specs Comparison: Features, Price Review - Curved Concept Fails to Capture Public Attention
LG was hoping that its curved concept phone would capture public attention when it released the G Flex.
However, that didn't happen and the phone was eclipsed instead by other devices, including the Galaxy Note 3 which has better specs.
Design
The design of the G Flex was considered radical when it was released as it was one of the very first curved smartphones in the market. Its curve extends from top to bottom. In addition the device has a self-healing coating on its back which can remove minor scratches within a few minutes. As for its frame and back panel, they are plastic – a feature it shares with the Note 3, which in addition has faux leather on its back. A major advantage in the Note 3 is its S Pen stylus, which allows for greater precision when drawing or typing.
Display
The Note 3 has a super AMOLED display measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the G Flex has a curved P-OLED screen measuring 6.0 inches with a resolution 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 245 pixels per inch.
Platform
The G Flex and the Note 3 are both loaded with the Android Jelly Bean operating system which can be upgraded to Lollipop. On the G Flex is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, coupled with a Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the Note 3 it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
In terms of memory slots, the G Flex does not have one, while the Note 3 includes a slot which can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB. As for RAM, the G Flex has 2 GB while the Note 3 has 3 GB.
Price
The Note 3 is priced at $149 with a two-year contract, while the G Flex costs $99 under a similar contract.
