Galaxy S6 Edge Review Specs, Features Roundup: Samsung Flagship Gets Top Marks for Design

The Galaxy S6 Edge | SAMSUNG

Reviewers are in agreement that the Galaxy S6 Edge, the latest flagship smartphone from Samsung with dual curved edges, is stunningly beautiful, with some even going as far as labelling it as the phone of the future.

The reviewers also agree that the Galaxy S6 Edge is miles ahead of the competition in terms of design.

A reviewer from Forbes described it as the "world's most beautiful phone" and urged potential buyers to go and check it out for themselves before making a decision between it and the Galaxy S6.

However, the review also pointed out that the Edge is mostly for show and has very little extra functionality. On the curved screen, users can assign colors to contacts. These colors show up along the edges when the phone is placed screen down. In addition users can also place five favorite contacts along one edge.

ZDNet, in its review, gave the Galaxy S6 Edge a near perfect score, only complaining about its battery not being able to last a whole day under heavy usage. The review underscored though that a normal user will definitely get a day's worth of use from a single charge.

The 16 megapixel camera on the device, its premium glass and metal design and stunning curved screen all get top marks in this review.

That the S6 Edge is far superior than the Galaxy S6 and other smartphones in terms of design was also pointed out by GSMArena and TweakTown. GSMArena said even though the S6 and S6 Edge have the same hardware, they look and feel different. TweakTown labelled the S6 Edge as "amazing."

As for Techradar, its review wondered why Samsung created the plain Galaxy S6 when everyone appears interested only in getting the S6 Edge. The review described the extra $100 price being charged for the device as totally worth it as the phone has the ability to capture the spotlight with its design and premium build materials.
