Game of Thrones Game Release Date and Trailer: Not a Prequel, Says Connors
The Game of Thrones adventure game developed by Telltale Games has been slated for a late 2014 release so fans are waiting for it eagerly as the year nears its end.
Announced December 8, 2013, the upcoming game is based on the television series and book entitled A Song of Ice and Fire. It will have versions for OS X, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Just like the developer's other games, the Game of Thrones version will be a "point-and click" game, where players will be able to move around while interacting with objects such as trees. Players are given choices that affect the flow of the story and significantly influence the outcome of the game.
Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors said that the game will not be a "prequel" of the series, according to Digital Trends. He also said, "I think we'll get in and work with those guys on figuring out what they're bringing to the table that's special and unique, and how it helps our storytelling, how it brings value to our episodic experience."
"We'll work with them to get the best thing we can out of it. For us, it's still going to be about the story and about getting people invested in the characters that they play," he added.
Telltale Games has been critically praised for the previous game spinoffs for The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead.
