'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Live Stream Free: Storylines, Characters Revisited Ahead of Season 5 Premiere
As we count down to the airing of "Game of Thrones" Season 5 premiere on Sunday, April 12, we need to be ready, and the best way to be prepared is to look back at the multiple storylines and characters of the hit HBO series.
In the previous season, Jon Snow was trying to negotiate a peace pact of sorts with the wildling army of Mance Rayder, the "King-Beyond-the-Wall," when Mance's camp was attacked by troops led by Stannis Baratheon, the "One-True-King." Jon is now stuck in the middle of the wildlings, Stannis, and the Night's Watch.
Stannis took Mance Rayder as prisoner. When ordered to kneel in surrender, Mance refused. Stannis Baratheon left the strong impression, yet again, that he's not the forgiving type.
Tyrion Lannister was assisted by Varys, the eunuch, in escaping and the two set sail for freedom most likely to Essos, but not before Tyrion let loose a couple of fatal bolts from his crossbow at his father, Lord Tywin Lannister, who really deserved it.
Jamie and Cersei Lannister were left in King's Landing, where Cersei would soon be the regent for the new king, Tommen. Margaery Tyrell, recently "widowed" upon the death of Joffrey, was planning to marry Tommen once the mourning periods are over.
Brienne of Tarth, in a bid to fulfill her pledge to save Arya Stark from Sandor Clegane, fought Clegane and nearly killed him. Arya refused to join her and vanished from sight.
Arya Stark refused to grant Clegane's wish ("Kill me!") for her to put him out of his misery with her sword, as he lay fatally wounded after his fight with Brienne. She left him dying in misery as she went off alone and boarded a ship sailing for the city of Braavos.
Queen Daenerys Targaryen found out that she could no longer control her dragons. She thus locked the smaller two in the catacombs beneath the city. However, Drogon, the biggest and most dangerous, was missing.
Bran Stark went north of the Wall, having made the journey to find the Three-Eyed Raven. He found him in the form of a wizened old tree man, who promised to teach Bran how to fly. Rickon was assumed to be still with Osha on his way to House Umber.
Sansa Stark was at the Eyrie with Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger) and was engaged to her cousin, Robin Arryn. Baelish pushed Lysa Arryn through the Moon Door with Sansa as witness. She, however, "lied" for him.
In the North, Roose Bolton finally legitimized Ramsay, his bastard son, who used Reek (Theon Greyjoy pre-Ramsay) to break the Ironborn and Moat Cailin.
Prince Oberyn Martell was slain in trial by combat versus The Mountain. Cersei's daughter, Myrcella Baratheon, is currently in Dorne as the Martells' ward.
The first episode of Season 5 will air on April 12, Sunday at 9PM EDT on HBO, and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.
