'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers, Plot News: Big Dragon Action Awaits Fans, Says Emilia Clarke
"Game of Thrones" fans have less than three weeks before Season 5 of the highly anticipated series unfolds on HBO. In an interview by Access Hollywood during the show's recent Season 5 premiere in San Francisco, Emilia Clarke – who plays Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons – shared some information about her character's story arc in the new season.
Clarke said this season, Daenerys is learning how to wield the power of her dragons and this in turn is helping her to develop into an even better leader.
"This season is such an exciting one for her because she's got more fire in her belly than she's ever had before. You're really seeing the Targaryen in her come out and that's kind of riveting and exciting, so she might make some mistakes, but she makes up for them later on in the season," Clarke said.
Back in Season 4, Daenerys had to lock up two of her dragons, Viserion and Rhaegal, but Clarke said this season, there will be a lot of dragon action. She joked that the tennis balls were flying all throughout the filming.
Tennis balls are one of the props used behind the scenes when the show has to CGI in some mythical creatures.
She further disclosed that the new season will satisfy the fans. "It's an incredibly satisfying season I think, for audiences to be watching. I think a lot of the things we have all been hoping for are beginning to come together a little bit more," she told Access. "That light at the end of the tunnel is growing brighter and made for such a glorious filming experience for me."
Clarke said she had goose bumps reading the script for Season 5 and she is just as excited as everyone to see how it's turned out.
Game of Thrones Season 5 will air on April 12, 2015 on HBO.
