'Game of Thrones' season 7 news, spoilers: Liam Cunningham shares new update; latest production news hints Arya–Nymeria reunion
New alliances will be forged when HBO's epic fantasy drama "Game of Thrones" returns for its seventh season.
During a preview event for the Game of Thrones Live Concert Tour Experience in Los Angeles, star Liam Cunningham spoke with IGN to discuss the new season. While all cast members can't reveal any spoilers about the show, the actor shared some interesting details on the characters.
"The progress of the show with the White Walkers and all that stuff, it's pretty obvious nobody's going to be able to take this force on on their own," the veteran actor said. He further explained that major characters will be meeting for the first time when season 7 picks up.
"So when we've had all these, for all these seasons, disparate stories come from disparate ends of Westeros, it has been – and it's been signaled from the end of last season – that there's a lot of people and situations going to be coming together," Cunningham added. "It was kind of interesting to meet some people who I normally only meet on a red carpet. Who that is and when that happens remains to be seen," he went on to say.
Meanwhile, fan site Watchers on the Wall recently reported that Maisie Williams, who plays Arya, is currently in Calgary, Canada to film season 7. Although the news itself doesn't sound mind blowing, fans were quick to point out that it is the exact location where the series shoot wolves in front of a green screen. The footages are then digitally enhanced to make the Stark siblings' Direwolves.
With the latest development, it is believed that Arya will be reunited with her beloved wolf Nymeria, who has been absent for six seasons. Fan theories also suggest that Arya will reunite with her siblings Jon (Kit Harrington) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) as well.
The seventh season of "Game of Thrones" premieres summer 2017 on HBO. An exact release date has yet to be announced by the network.
