'Game of Thrones' season 7 cast spoilers news 2016: Latest casting breakdown for new roles revealed

The wait for the seventh season of HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" will be a long one, as it is veering away from its usual April release and will, instead, premiere summer of 2017. Nevertheless, regular updates are pouring in for the series, including the latest batch of new roles cast for the season.

According to Watchers on the Wall, one of the roles to be cast this season is a priest, described a "venerable priest with moral authority and gravitas." Apparently, this priest will be a "fancy man" who will have an RP accent, with RP standing for Received Pronunciation, usually associated with educated people.

Another character is a warrior, "a tough-looking bruiser with the attack skills of a pit bull." A 20-ish gate guard will likewise be cast, and the character is described as a "confident, characterful, straight-talking Northern lad with a great face to play across a very excellent series of scenes."

Also being cast is a city guard in his 30s, "a suspicious-looking person on his nightly patrol." This city guard will have an RP accent, too. A 40-something merchant will be part of "Game of Thrones" season 7, as well. There will also be a lovely lady described as "an attractive young courtesan who is sure of her own mind," and a tall, handsome young lord in his late 20s with an RP accent.

A lieutenant in his 20s, described as "an athletic, physically fit, and disciplined warrior," will also be cast. According to Watchers, the producers of the series are looking for someone of Middle Eastern descent.

Winter Is Coming, a blog dedicated to all things "Game of Thrones" even shared that there are speculations this character will be a new member of Daenery's (Emilia Clarke) inner circle, probably one of her Dothraki soldiers with whom she'll be interacting the most.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is still a long ways off, but what little is revealed about the upcoming installment is already making fans excited.
