'Gears of War' Release Date Xbox One: Remastered Edition of Game Coming Exclusively to Xbox One

Rumors have been heating up for months that Microsoft is planning to create a remastered version of the original "Gears of War" game and bring it to the Xbox One.

This is good news for gamers, many of whom are interested in remastered games for current generation consoles.

News about the remastered version of the game first came out on Polygon which spoke to an unnamed source. The source referred to stills from the upcoming game, saying that it would be focused on the invasion of Locusts with updated visuals.

The development of the remastered edition will reportedly be handled by Black Tusk Studios, a development team within Microsoft. The updated visuals in the game will be created by Plastic Wax, an animation studio with expertise in the area.

With Microsoft heavily involved, it is expected that the remastered edition of "Gears of War" will be released exclusively for the Xbox One. Microsoft bought the rights to the gaming series from Epic Games last year.

At that time, it was thought that Microsoft would release an anthological game titled the "Marcus Fenix Collection" for the Xbox One. However, that rumor was later labeled as false by the company, saying that the tweet from Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox One division, which started the rumor was incorrect.

Black Tusk Studios is also reportedly working on a brand-new game in the franchise. This means that Microsoft could have two "Gears of War" games on its Xbox One console this year.

More news about the new game is expected to be released this June. Earlier this month, Spencer said Xbox One is making huge progress on the new game, stressing that it will not be a reboot of the franchise.

Jack Felling from Black Tusk Studios posted on Twitter also this month that the new game will only be coming to the Xbox One and not to the Xbox 360.
