Netflix has recently debuted the trailer for their upcoming film "Girlfriend's Day," a dark comedy which stars "Better Call Saul" lead actor Bob Odenkirk.

According to Screen Crush, the film's trailer is reminiscent of Richard Ayoade's "The Double" with its aura of making mundane everyday life feel surreally sinister.

Channeling movies like "500 Days of Summer" and "Her," Netflix's "Girlfriend's Day" is a film about a depressed man who writes copy for a greeting card company. In the search for love, he finds himself in a situation filled with conspiracy, drama, and murder.

As reported by Coming Soon, "Girlfriend's Day" is a Netflix original film featuring a clever and quirky story about love, loss, and the world of greeting card writing. It centers on Ray Wentworth (Odenkirk), once a king of the wordsmith world but has since become a down-on-his-luck romantic greeting card writer.

In his desperation to recapture the feelings which once made him the greatest, he finds himself trapped in an inescapable situation filled with deceit and murder, as writers compete against each other to write the perfect card for a newly crowned holiday: Girlfriend's Day.

Aside from Odenkirk, the film also stars Amber Tamblyn, Natasha Lyonne, Ed Begley Jr., Stacey Keach, Rich Sommer, June Diane Raphael, Andy Richter, Stephanie Cortney, Toby Huss, Stephen Michael Quezada, Derek Waters, and Echo Kellum.

"Girlfriend's Day" is not the first film offering of the online streaming service company. Aside from the several TV series it created, Netflix has also produced movies such as "13th," "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House," "Into the Inferno," and "Beasts of No Nation," among many others.

Netflix also has other upcoming movies under its sleeves, which are scheduled to be released for the next two or three years. Among these include Duncan Jones' "Mute," Angelina Jolie's "First They Killed My Father," and Adam Wingard's "Death Note."

Directed by Michael Paul Stephenson ("The American Scream"), "Girlfriend's Day" is scheduled to premiere online this coming Valentine's day (Tuesday, Feb. 14) on Netflix.
