Google Nexus 2016 release date, specs news: HTC Nexus smartphone to come with Android Nougat?
There are already several reports suggesting that the Taiwanese consumer electronics company, HTC, will manufacture the upcoming Google Nexus 2016. New reports have emerged all over the internet saying that the device will arrive with the latest Google operating system, Android N.
The reports came after the announcement from Google that the new operating system will be officially called Android Nougat. Many people have already expected the software to debut on the upcoming Google Nexus device, which specs and features have allegedly been leaked out. However, nobody can provide concrete details as to when the new handset will arrive.
The revelation of the new Google software was posted on Android's Twitter page, which also came with a short video clip detailing how the name of the new operating system was picked.
According to a report by Android Police, the Google Nexus 2016 with pre-installed Android Nougat will most likely come out in August. Although the company has yet to confirm this report, many fans believe that Google will finish the development of the new OS by the end of July.
Meanwhile, the specs and features of the upcoming handset have already hit the rumor mill. There are speculations saying that the new Google device will arrive in two variants – the HTC Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin. Reports suggest that the Sailfish will carry a 5-inch screen and impressive specs under the hood. The smartphone is said to be carrying hardware specs that are more powerful than the LG Nexus 5X, which was released in 2015.
On the hand, the Nexus Marlin will be sporting a slightly bigger screen at 5.5 inches with AMOLED display technology, which can support 2560 x 1440 resolutions. The specs under the hood will be pretty impressive, which will be headed by a quad-core processor from Qualcomm. There are speculations that HTC will put the new Snapdragon 823 on the device to be paired with 4 GB of RAM.
