Although "Gotham" is going on hiatus until April 24, FOX has recently released a trailer for its spring premiere, titled "How the Riddler Got His Name." The sneak preview features a first look at Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) as The Riddler.

In the winter finale of "Gotham," Nygma shot Penguin (Robin Taylor), who confessed his love for Ed and his role in Isabella's death. Nygma then began his transformation into the riddle-obsessed supervillain known as "The Riddler."

As can be seen in the trailer for "Gotham" season 3 episode 15, The Riddler dons a relatively subdued and classy style even though his chosen supervillain costume includes a green suit and tie. He will also be wearing a green bowler hat to complete his eccentric, green ensemble. However, the supervillain won't be appearing in the show with his trademark cane just yet.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Smith shared a few details about his role as The Riddler — one of which is the fact that his upcoming version of the supervillain won't be equipped with his trademark cane yet.

"I do not have a cane yet, but I want one so badly for a few different reasons," Smith said. "I won't tell you all of them so I don't spoil anything, but I'm pitching very hard for a cane. Plus, we do have somewhere to go and add some stuff, so maybe in the future, there will be a cane," the actor went on to say.

"But I want him to be someone who deserves a f--king cane. He needs to be someone that's just begging for a cane," he added.

Aside from Smith, "Gotham" stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, and much more.

"Gotham" season 3 episode 15 is set to air on Monday, April 24 on FOX.
