'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 episode 11 spoilers, news: Eliza faces difficult first day at the hospital; major character confirmed to exit after season 13
New alliances are formed on the upcoming episode of ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.
Titled "Jukebox Hero," tonight's episode will see how one character's patience will be tested. According to the official synopsis, Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) and the rest of the attendings come up with a plan to make Eliza's (guest star Marika Dominczyk) first day at Grey Sloan a tough one. As a result, they form alliances that make her job more difficult. Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) attempts to find answers as she tracks down Alex (Justin Chambers).
Thursday's midseason premiere saw Alex taking the plea deal, with the possibility of him serving out a long prison sentence. Cast member Jason George spoke with Entertainment Tonight, and he shared that he and his co-stars were all shocked with the troubled character's decision.
"I'll say this, I remember when we finished that script at the table read and he went to take the plea deal, cast members and crew were screaming in the room, like, 'What?!'" he said. "We were every bit as freaked out as you are. Like, 'What's happening here? You can't! He can't go to jail. This is crazy.' But you can. The reality is, it's Grey's. People die, people go to jail," the actor added.
In other news, Grey Sloan will be down one doctor when the long-running program returns for its 14th season. Jerrika Hinton, who has portrayed Dr. Stephanie Edwards since 2012, will be exiting the show after season 13. The latest development didn't come as a surprise since the actress recently landed a major starring role in Alan Ball's upcoming untitled HBO drama. Details on how Stephanie will depart from the show will later be made known. ABC has yet to officially announce departure.
The 13th season of "Grey's Anatomy" airs every Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
