'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers: Meredith helps Alex cover up a crime?
The confrontation between Alex (Justin Chambers) and Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti) will have some dire consequences for both parties in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.
In the previous season, Alex beats up Andrew after seeing him with a Jo (Camilla Luddington). Unbeknownst to him, Jo was just so drunk and it was Andrew who helped her get back to her place safely.
Jo was too inebriated to realize who she was with and started undressing, and at the same time she did so, Alex walks in and started attacking Andrew. As seen in the new teaser for "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, he beat him up pretty badly.
When the new season begins, Andrew will be in the hospital not as a doctor, but as a patient fighting for his life. Meredith attends to him with Alex and warns her best friend that he could go to jail for this.
In the "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 teaser, he asks Meredith if he will tell on him, with the latter replying "You think no one is gonna realize this is you?" However, TVLine suggests that she will help him cover up the truth, as she declared themselves as the "bad guys."
Cast member Kelly McCreary, who plays Maggie—who also happens to be Andrew's former girlfriend—teases that there will be consequences about what happened and it will divide Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
"The doctors in the hospital [have] to reckon with the notion that one of their own could have been so violent," the actress told TVGuide.
"It causes some friction among the doctors. There's definitely sides being taken," she continued, teasing "intense fallout" in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.
Sooner or later, Jo's secret (she is married to an abusive husband who threatens to hurt her if she divorces him) is also expected to be out in the open soon, but with Alex in danger of going behind bars, their relationship is going to be more complicated.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
