NBC has already announced that "Grimm" will end with its upcoming season 6, but fans remain hopeful for more seasons.

On Aug. 29, NBC confirmed that "Grimm" season 6 will be the supernatural drama's final season. Many fans had felt this announcement coming, given that the network had moved the show's air date to a Friday night graveyard slot, indicating that it was destined to be cancelled.

But fans are not about to give up hope on Nick Burkhardt and the rest of the "Grimm" crew. Following the announcement of the show's cancellation, various fan petitions have cropped up, urging NBC to rethink its decision to axe "Grimm" or asking streaming services such as Netflix to pick up the series.

One such petition has gained steam and earned thousands of signatures from "Grimm" fans.

According to Rebekka Hay of Wales, United Kingdom, "The majority of the fans feel that the story cannot end yet, that there is so much more potential and that it would be a wasted opportunity."

Hay, an avid fan of the NBC drama, started a Change.org petition titled "Have Netflix pick up the show 'Grimm' after Season 6." In the petition, which will be delivered to Netflix, Hay said that she grew up with the Grimm's fairy tales and that she was always interested in the real stories that inspired the tales.

"'Grimm,' like no other show, took these stories and boldly developed a gripping and fascinating drama," Hay wrote. "They took the stories and created a new, highly original and creative show that I don't want to end," she continued.

As of writing, the petition for a "Grimm" season 7 on Netflix has been signed by 9,015 supporters and needs only 990 more to reach the 10,000-signature goal.

Meanwhile, "Grimm" actress Bitsie Tulloch, who plays Juliette Slverton, recently shared a behind-the-scenes snap from the set of "Grimm" season 6. The photo, which showed her and "Grimm" star David Giuntoli (Nick Burkhardt), was captioned "First ADR session for @nbcgrimm Season 6 #bts."

In the image, Tulloch and Giuntoli are seen searching for something in a dark room or tunnel with the help of a lantern and a flashlight.

The photo teased the highly anticipated reunion of Nick and Juliette in season 6. The possibility of the former lovers rekindling their romance was hinted at in the season 5 finale.

"Grimm" season 6 debuts Friday, Jan. 6, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
