The "Grand Theft Auto" ("GTA") modders can soon allow "GTA 5" players to run around Liberty City.

Mod developers who created the popular OpenIV tool kit revealed on their official website that they are working on a new project that will bring the Liberty City map of "GTA 4" to the latest installment of the critically acclaimed open-world, action-adventure game.

The modders claim that bringing the past map on the latest "GTA" game will not affect its current maps. "The Liberty City will not replace Los Santos or Blaine County, but appears across the sea. Using the power of OpenIV and openFormats, we [were] able to bring Liberty City right into GTA V map," the modders explained.

The mod tool developers also mentioned that players need to free a lot of space to prepare their PCs for downloading the upcoming mod. They also need to download a converter tool with a few additional assets to convert the Liberty City map from the player's copy of the "GTA 4" game into their "GTA 5."

However, Daily Disruption warned players that they might experience being banned from the game if they opted to download and use the mod in the game's multiplayer feature.

The report mentioned that Rockstar Games actually planned to incorporate the Liberty City map as an expansion content on "GTA 5," but the plan has yet to be executed at the moment. This prompted the modders to act first and come up with their own version of the Liberty City map expansion through an unauthorized mod.

However, the OpenIV tool developer has yet to announce when they will release their planned Liberty City map mod on "GTA 5." According to the modders, "We are trying to make first release as soon as possible but currently we do not have information when it will happen."

More details about the new "GTA 5" mod are expected in the coming days.
