'GTA 6' release date, news, game features: Game to be set in London or Tokyo?
The developers of "Grand Theft Auto" is exploring to have the game set in London or Tokyo. Meanwhile, could Rockstar develop a VR support for "GTA 6?"
"Grand Theft Auto" is an open-world action video game series created by Mike Dailly and David Jones, and published by Rockstar Games. It follows a male protagonist in completing missions all over the city, consisting of quests given by certain influential people or tasks that will help the gamer gain more for the character's profile. The maps of the game's previous installments have been located in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles.
The sixth installment of "GTA" is already creating a lot of buzz within the gaming community, and a lot of details about the game is already being speculated.
According to Neurogadget, Rockstar is exploring the option of setting the game map outside the U.S. They are reportedly considering Tokyo or London for "GTA 6," which could either be a good avenue to cater the game's crime theme.
In an interview with Develop, as confirmed by Trusted Reviews, Rockstar President Leslie Benzies shared that the whole of a "GTA" game comes from the question of where it will be set.
"It comes from the idea first. Where it is going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the mission in," Benzies explained.
Benzies added that they have "about 45 years' worth of ideas," so fans can expect a lot of new things in the upcoming "GTA 6."
Meanwhile, there are speculations that Rockstar will be developing "GTA 6" to have VR support.
Recently, the VR support has become a big hit among the gaming community, as it adds to the quality of experience that gamers have from playing their favorite games. This might be the reason why Rockstar is also looking to hook the game with VR support. Adding the VR feature might push the release of "GTA 6" to a much later year than 2018, but there has been no confirmation about when the game will be released on the market.
"GTA 6" is expected to be launched in 2018.
